Mission

Howling Hideaway Rescue is a not for profit organization committed to protecting and advocating for animals in need. We provide a safe haven for animals in crisis through a network of fosters, volunteers and partnerships.

We provide a support system for people wanting to bring a pet into their homes as well to those needing to rehome.

Our mission statement is the same as most animal rescues,

 Rescue, rehabilitate, rehome animals,

Advocate for animals

while educating the public on how to provide a safer and happier world.

100% of donations and adoption fees, merchandise sales, goes back into the care and cost of the critters in care.

Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animal while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the rescue who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets.

An adoption fee can end up saving you money !

Shelters and rescue groups usually cover initial veterinary costs to prepare the pet for a new home

Adoption fees often include:

  • Veterinary wellness visit and exam $75+

  • Spaying or neutering $300-600

  • Standard vaccinations $25+

  • Rabies vaccination $25+

  • Heartworm and lyme test $35+

  • Flea/tick treatment $50+

  • Microchip $50

  • Deworming $20+

TOTAL: $575+

Dogs like Birdie, requiring extensive medical and surgical procedures, or dogs like Buddy that need full dental care,or dogs like Casey who require emergency hospitalization, on top of their standard vaccines and vet care, are why we charge adoption fees. Any "left over" funds go to dogs requiring more.

Birdies medical alone was over $3000 when all was said and done. Her adoption fee only covered a small portion of that.

Along with adoption fees, fundraising is how rescues cover our Critters costs while in our care. We don't receive any government funding or assistance. We rely solely on donations from our fundraising efforts and adoption fees to cover our medical, special diets, supplies, and basic care of the Critters we help.

All positions within the rescue are volunteer. There are no paid positions.

Animal rescue is a much-needed social service that helps protect animals from dangerous situations that often involve cruelty and abuse

Howling Hideaway Rescue is always recruiting. If you have read this article and wish to help in our mission, reach out.
